It all started in 1967 when Gus came to Kingston from a small Greek village. He bought his first restaurant, the Tropicana, in 1972. Then in 1985 he opened Costellos, and 7 years later he opened Grecos Wine Bar & Grill, with his son Jim, in the heart of downtown and it has become a staple in Kingston ever since.
In a short time, Kingstonians were drawn there from word of mouth. The reviews of freshly cooked lamb, chicken and seafood, home-made tzatziki, mouth-watering souvlaki and saganaki.
Jim and Gus have continued to keep the family legacy alive. Grecos Wine Bar & Grill can seat up to 80 people and is almost always full as customers continue to crave the authentic Greek and Mediterranean classics, pastas, pizzas and steak.

Needed a place for dinner after a busy day of being tourists, and more or less stumbled on Greco’s (well, Yelp did help). I had the Greco’s Delight, and it was, as promised, delightful. My mom had the lamb shank. The lamb was falling off the bone. The entire meal was incredible. Highly recommended. Pro tip: Ask for waitress Susy. She took great care of us.
